I have looked into the Gruber Brothers lighting company, and found a few of their trade catalogs in our collection. I’ve attached a bibliography with those catalogs, none of which are currently digitized. We do participate in Interlibrary Loan, and you may be able to borrow some of the microfiche catalogs through that system. Our ILL policies can be found on this page – please contact your local library if you would like to put in a request.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find much more information about the company in our collection or online. I do know they were based in Brooklyn, NY, and were active at least from the 1930s until the 1950s (when our catalogs date from). I’ve attached a second bibliography that lists journals for researchers of lighting and lamps made c. 1890-1940. We do not have many of the journals in our collection but another member of our reference staff has listed some of the libraries that own the journal. They might also be something you can request through Interlibrary Loan.
