I'm sorry I did not get back to you yesterday. I ran out of time before I could scan anything. I did find some articles which refer to Young and his work, as well as a walking tour guide of the church.
West Rose: Henry Wynd Young 1924
A 15’ diameter rose consisting of twelve petals, thirteen quatrefoils plus ornamental kites
Dr. Alice Mary Hilton 212 288-4100
Chairman of Fine Arts Committee
St. James’ Church
865 Madison Avenue
New York, NY 10021
- You will find some more info on Young on the Pittsburgh History and Landmark Foundation website, where they have bios of several stained glass artists. Haven't yet managed to find out where he got his initial training in stained glass.
Incidentally, the "Wynd" part of his name (pronounced as in wind up a clock, not wind blowing) was a bit of an affectation he only added in his 20s to make himself sound a bit more unusual!
