Our curatorial and collections team reviews all potential acquisitions and makes selections based on the Museum’s current acquisition goals. Discussion with or interest from our staff is not a guarantee of acceptance.
PLEASE NOTE: We will only consider acquisition requests submitted using the form linked below or through standard mail.
What We Can’t Do
- We cannot guarantee we will respond to your question.
- We will not consider objects brought or sent to the Museum
- We will not accept questions submitted over the phone.
- We will not automatically accept offers, as each offer must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
What we can do
- Carefully consider your object(s) for acquisition. PLEASE NOTE: considering an object for acquisition takes many hours of research, planning, and evaluation from our curatorial and collections team.
What we need from you
- High-quality, non-blurry images, including details of any markings or signatures present on the glass and photographs from different angles, including the underside or bottom of your object.
- A description of how and where you got the object and how long you or your family have had it. Often, the history of the object can tell us a lot about it.
- Indicate whether you are interested in donating or selling your object to the Museum.
- Patience. If a curator is interested in accepting your offer, someone from our team will be in touch with you to discuss further details.
Please submit your question using this form: Ask a Glass Object Question
