We don't have any with expertise on battery jars on staff, it seems. There are collectors with expertise we can suggest, however. These are people who publish books, articles, newsletters on bottle and jar collecting. They would be good places to begin looking for a battery jar expert.

Tom Caniff publishes the Fruit Jar News and has written articles on battery jars for Antique Bottle & Glass Collector. Tom's contact information (found on whitepages.com) is:

Thomas W Caniff
(740) 282-8918
1223 Oakgrove Ave
Steubenville, OH 43952-1649

I might also suggest checking this website for more information: http://www.antiquebottles-glass.com/battery-jars/

and

http://aspetuckantiques.com/antique-battery-jars/1

This is an online antiques dealer who has written about battery jars. Phone number (listed on the site) is (203) 445-0604.

I am also attaching a bibliography of articles, trade catalogs and a few other publications on battery jars. Let me know if any of these are of interest, and, depending on availability and length, we could send copies to you.

Finally, I scanned some relevant pages form Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Directory. Here you will find clubs, associations, collectors, appraisers and experts listed, with contact information. I scanned the sections on bottles (because this would overlap with battery jars) and on scientific instruments.
