As of September 2, 2026, the Rakow Library has upgraded our library catalog to a newer version. The new catalog will have a cleaner interface and improved accessibility. Most of the features that you enjoyed while using the previous version of our catalog are the same, and there are even some helpful new features.
You will still be able to:
- Search the library catalog using keywords, proper names, subjects, and other terms.
- Filter your search results by material type, date, and other characteristics.
- Browse the library's Digital Collections.
- If you have a library account, you can save your searches and lists.
What you might notice that has changed:
- Filters have moved to the left side of the screen.
- Some features require signing in to your library account to browse pages of search results or records.
Some new additions:
- It's easier to find materials that are available online. After searching the library catalog, check the filters under availability.
- If something is available online, the digital file will be the first thing that you see when you open the record.
Some tips:
- Searching Digital Collections works best if you open a collection first. Search inside "Archives", "Artworks", "Books", etc. instead of the entire collection.
- Choose among six available languages for the catalog interface by selecting the dropdown menu at the top right corner of your screen.
